Description from the seller
Exceptional low modernist sideboard designed by the famous Czech designer Jiří Jiroutek for the publisher Interier Praha in the 1960s. It was produced in 1966.
This piece is an absolute icon of the "Brussels Style", a movement born from the resounding success of the Czechoslovak pavilion at the 1958 World Exposition in Brussels. This design is characterized by the boldness of its geometric lines, its functional minimalism and its innovative use of color contrasts.
The furniture rests on an elegant compass base typical of the era. The veneered structure in oak (or walnut) beautifully frames the front, creating a perfect graphic contrast, ideal for a contemporary interior, modernist, or a creative studio.
