Stucco head of Buddha - Afghanistan - 300-400 A.D. (Gandhara Kushan period)
A fine stucco head of Buddha, Gandhara, Kushan period, 3rd-4th century A.D., from Hadda, Afghanistan.
Very finely molded with a gentle bow-shaped mouth, straight nose, and heavy-lidded elongated eyes centered by a raised urna, the hairstyle is in wavy locks over the prominent ushnisha.

Condition: Good, damaged from the tip of the nose and some patching work around the neck and behind to avoid skin loss (see images for details).
