Description from the seller
Ancient Spanish silver box made by Madrid silversmith F. Vera, dated to the 1940s–1950s of the 20th century. Piece crafted in silver, handmade with refined relief decoration and careful execution inspired by traditional motifs.
The lid features a rural scene of everyday life with traditional peasant figures, depicted in a popular and folkloric setting. The composition presents a detailed scene of daily life with rich narrative content and artistic depth, inspired by old European rural representations.
The sides continue the ornamental relief decoration with floral motifs and decorative elements of great delicacy. The interior preserves an elegant vermeil finish (gold-plated interior), traditionally used both for aesthetic reasons and to protect the inner surface.
The piece retains natural patina that enhances the relief and gives historical character to the whole. It bears maker’s marks and visible hallmark contrasts on the base.
