Description from the seller
Andreas Gursky
*1955 Leipzig
is a German photographer and visual artist – internationally he ranks among the 100 most important artists of the present and is one of the most successful photographers in the world
He photographs, among other things, landscapes, architecture and interiors. Gursky photographs in color, using color somewhat restrained, and with the technical possibilities of large-format photography achieves a high precision of depiction, yet he intervenes in the depiction with computer-assisted image editing tools. Thus he creates, in numerous works, artificial effects based on montages.

Künstlerplakate are posters designed by visual artists (in the traditional sense), usually for the purpose of self-promotion, to announce, for example, their exhibition in a museum or gallery. The posters are usually printed and distributed in a predominantly small edition (usually about 100 – 200 copies).
Particularly artist-signed posters are very rare to find and offer collectors an ultimate investment with great potential for appreciation in value.
Long established as a field of its own, as early as the 1960s and 1970s in the USA and Europe there were already dedicated poster museums, and major museums like the Modern Art Museum or Guggenheim Museum in New York dedicated themselves to pure artist-poster exhibitions, whose importance is also reflected in the poster works catalogs of many great artists.
