Set of 9 Sarreguemines earthenware plates from France, dating to circa 1900–1910, each featuring a unique humorous Belle Époque scene with cards and game motifs, diameter about 21.2 cm, decorative border and polychrome storytelling, overall good used condition with minor age-related craquelure.

Special set of 9 Sarreguemines plates, dating from around 1900, each with a unique, humorous image of a game or pastime from the social life of the Belle Époque. The plates are richly illustrated with distinctive figures in historical attire and surrounded by a decorative border featuring playing cards and game accessories.
A comparable set, but the complete set of 12, was sold in Paris for €1464 (see last image).
The following designs are included in this set:
Le Loto, Les Dés, Les Dominos, Le Bibiquet (also known as bilboquet), Le Bonneteau, Le Whist, Le Piquet, Les Échecs, Le Billard. This series forms a beautiful whole and offers a lively look at entertainment around 1900.
