Description from the seller

Beautiful antique Roberval scale from the late 19th century.
The name comes from the French mathematician Gilles Personne de Roberval, who invented the mechanism in 1669.
This type of scales was widely used during that period in French grocers' shops.
The text "Force 1 Kilog" on the scale indicates that the maximum weighing capacity is 1 kilogram.
The scale is made of cast iron with a blue enamel coating. The two pans are made of brass.
It can of course be used as a scale, but it is also a beautiful decorative object.

The photos are part of the description.
