A 1950s Rolex Precision Metropolitan with 18-karat gold case and caseback, one of those dress watches from the Geneva maison that today attract growing interest among collectors seeking the discreet elegance of pre-Oyster Rolex, far from the sports narrative that dominates the contemporary market.
The guilloche "engine turned" bezel is a refined and distinctive detail of the period, a handcrafted work that requires mastery. The Rolex 710 manual-wind movement, refurbished in April 2022 by a professional, guarantees daily reliability: 17 jewels, 18000 a/h, adjusted to two positions. The white dial with applied gold indices and Dauphine hands is a Rolex-branded print — a detail to be disclosed transparently, and that does not diminish the watch's enjoyment nor its collectible dignity, considering the case, back, and movement are all original and gold.
The gold-plated metal buckle is Rolex-branded. A gold Rolex from the 1950s at an accessible price: it’s hard to find a more balanced combination for those who want to enter the vintage Rolex world with style.
