Description from the seller

Sumptuous drinking horn / decorative horn on a mythological dragon stand – Historicism / Neo-Renaissance
Unique and highly decorative ornament horn on a finely cast bronze stand in the form of a winged dragon. This impressive collectible combines natural beauty with late-historicist casting art. The real horn captivates with its natural, gentle grain, transitioning from a light cream tone at the top to a deep, dark hue toward the tip.
The horn is supported by a detailed, figurative mount made of solid bronze (or high-quality yellow brass). A plastically worked dragon with erect wings and a scaled tail rises up and holds the decorative cuff into which the horn is inserted. The frame rests on an opulently decorated, four-footed pedestal in the style of Neo-Renaissance or Historicism.
Note on age: While the sumptuous bronze stand is stylistically and in fabrication attributable to the Historicism era (late 19th / early 20th century), the horn inserted is presumably a later addition or a suitable replacement. The horn is in very good, stable condition.
An absolute eye-catcher for collectors of oddities (cabinet of curiosities), lovers of Historicism, or as a striking decorative object in a refined setting.
