Beautiful, in a distinctive light color, rarely seen, beautifully colored, a very large XXL shell Charonia Tritonis - colloquial name trumpet Triton or giant Triton, this is a species of a very large sea snail, a mollusk from the family Charoniidae, tritons. It is one of the largest mollusks on the coral reef. The shell is thick and heavy, strongly spiraled in the shape of an elongated tower. Ended sharply at the apex, gradually widening toward the aperture.
Strongly ribbed, with clear spiral ribs and knobs. The color of the shell is most often yellowish, cream or brown with irregular, darker spots and streaks. The aperture (shell opening) is large, wide, oval.
The interior is smooth, often in shades of orange, pink or red-brown, contrasting with the outer surface of the shell. The outer lip is thick, sometimes wavy, often with delicate notching.
Special features - due to its large size and distinctive structure it has been used in many cultures as a wind instrument (shell-trumpet).
It is valued by collectors and has significance in art and ritual. Dimensions - 125×185×345 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
