AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Round silver box 800 with stylized birds decoration – Germany, mid-20th century

Elegant and refined circular box made of 800 mils silver, of probable German origin, decorated with an extraordinary ornamental relief and engraving work. The lid features a symmetrical composition with two stylized birds facing each other, integrated into an elaborate vegetal decoration and curves of great visual richness.

The design recalls the aesthetics of German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) with historicist influences and neo-Renaissance ornamental elements, where fluid lines, natural motifs and a harmonious composition predominate. The top shows a spectacular radial motif in the shape of a fan or plumage, while the side is decorated with a continuous band of scrolls and finely executed vegetal elements.

The piece stands out for the excellent contrast between polished surfaces and darkened backgrounds, which enhance the depth and sculptural character of the decoration.
