Description from the seller
Exceptional articulated silver fish – a work of high Spanish goldsmithing art – Madrid, ca. 1930–1940
Magnificent sculptural miniature made entirely of solid silver, representing an articulated fish (articulated fish) executed with extraordinary artistic and technical quality. The piece stands out for its movable construction, composed of carefully assembled segments that allow a natural and flexible movement of the body, demonstrating a level of workmanship typical of the best Spanish silversmiths and jewelers of the era.
The sculpture features refined manual engraving and chiselling work, with deeply defined scales and an elegant contrast of volume and texture. Its striking blue crystal eyes particularly stand out, adding expressiveness and character to the figure. The design conveys movement and life, turning the piece into a small masterpiece of Spanish artistic silverware.
This type of articulated miniatures made in Madrid during the first half of the 20th century were produced by specialized workshops of high technical level and are today highly valued by collectors of silver, zoological miniatures, and singular metalwork pieces.
