Specimen: Plesiosaurus; Scientific name: Plesiosaurus; a single fossil tooth of a plesiosaur kept in its natural state, with part of the root, well preserved enamel and colour variation, set in a matrix containing fish vertebrae and other fossil remains, naturally consolidated.
Description from the seller
This remarkable fossil concerns an impressive tooth of a plesiosaur, which is preserved entirely in its natural state. The tooth is noticeably sharp and even still contains part of the root—a detail that is rarely found in this type of fossil and makes the piece even more valuable. The enamel is exceptionally well preserved and shows a beautiful variation in color, from lighter to deeper hues, which gives it an attractive and vivid appearance.
What makes this fossil even more unique is the surrounding matrix. Within it, among other things, fish vertebrae and other fossil remains are visible, which not only forms an aesthetically pleasing whole, but also provides an interesting glimpse into the original habitat.
The whole is naturally consolidated, keeping the fossil stable without compromising authenticity. Teeth of a plesiosaur of this size and of this quality are exceptionally scarce, making this specimen an exceptional find for serious collectors and paleontology enthusiasts.
