Description from the seller
OCEAN STONES — Inès Rouissi — 2024
3D Original Wall Sculpture
Acrylic, resin and metallic pigments
on rigid support — 51 × 51 × 6 cm
This work is not meant to be looked at.
It must be felt.
Dozens of hand-sculpted pebbles, layer after layer — each unique,
each alive. Jet black. Turquoise
metallic. Silver crystals that catch
the light and redistribute it differently
at every hour of the day.
This is not a painting.
It is a physical presence.
A relief that casts its own shadows.
A surface that breathes with light.
INÈS ROUISSI — THE ARTIST
Born January 25, 1977, Inès Rouissi is a Mediterranean artist-researcher whose practice sits at the intersection of research, matter and spatial perception. Since childhood, she has explored the interactions between volumes, textures and atmospheres, developing a comprehension of space that is both instinctive and analytical. Her works generate immersive atmospheres inspired by Mediterranean landscapes. Each creation becomes an evolving experience, designed to interact with its environment and subtly transform over time.
Represented by Abstract Art Gallery, founded in Riga in 2010.
