Decorative desktop photo frame
This is an antique cast iron frame, similar to the Baroque or Edwardian era, used for photographs or small mirrors. Made of cast iron with intricate ornaments depicting mythical creatures and floral motifs. The upper part of the frame is decorated with a pair of mythical creatures (resembling dragons or hippocampi - seahorses with fish tails) surrounding a central cartouche or coat of arms. The side pillars resemble architectural elements similar to Gothic spires or columns. Similar cast iron products were popular in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly during the Edwardian era (c. 1910)
Can be used for its intended purpose, or to create an accent in a vintage or classic style interior.
