Caccia alla volpe, an oil on canvas painting by Scuola britannica (XX) from the United Kingdom, dating to 1950–1960, in Art Nouveau style, Original edition, sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
EXCEPTIONALLY WITHOUT RESERVE
A charming 20th-century painting, oil on canvas, depicting an elegant equestrian scene with riders and dogs in a countryside landscape.
The composition clearly recalls the English artistic tradition of aristocratic hunting, with figures in red coats and horses depicted at a pause along a path set in nature.
The subjects are arranged with balance and harmony: in the foreground the horses, rendered with good anatomical accuracy, while the hunting dogs animate the scene with liveliness and a sense of movement.
The autumn landscape, characterized by warm golden tones and soft, diffuse light, helps to create a refined and decorative atmosphere, with trees and rolling hills adding depth to the overall scene.
The brushwork appears fluid and pleasant, with a warm color rendering that enhances the whole composition, making the work particularly suitable for classic or high-quality rustic interiors.
Signature present in the bottom right.
Ebony-stained wooden frame with gilded profiles, elegant and well-proportioned, which frames and enhances the work.
Please note that, given the age of the work, there may be small flaws, cracks or losses: natural signs of time that attest to its authenticity and history.
The frames are complimentary and will not be considered an integral part of the lot in case of damage to them.
The photographs were taken under direct spotlight.
Our shipments are fast, professional, and with securely protected packaging: the corresponding shipping costs apply.
In accordance with current art-handling regulations, no lot will be shipped outside Europe (Schengen area), except by private arrangement at the buyer's sole expense; any shipments outside the EU may be more costly and subject to potential issues.
