Rare collectible piece from the golden era of home video!
ADC Professional Audio Group – Model VSS-1 Video Sound Shaper (also known as Video Processor), manufactured in Japan around 1979.
This exclusive processor combines a powerful 5-band stereo graphic equalizer (±10-12 dB) with a video and audio source switcher (ideal for VCR, tape, monitor), monitor selector (Tape/Audio/VCR-A/VCR-B/VSP), stereo/mono mode, and sound synthesis options. Perfect for restoring and enhancing sound of old VHS/Betamax recordings, vintage hi-fi setups, or as a standout piece in a retro studio.
• Brushed aluminum front panel in silver (very sleek), black professional rear panel.
• Smooth, precise faders (no visible crackle).
• Full RCA connections: multiple video and L/R audio in/out, tape loop, monitor out, bypass.
• Original 120V power supply (includes cable), low power consumption ~12W.
• Serial number visible, original labels intact.
Condition: Very good visually and functionally (powers on, sliders clean – contact cleaning recommended due to vintage). No manual, but a basic schematic is available online.
