Siemen Bolhuis, a Dutch sculptor, signs a wall-hung three-dimensional work titled 'Please give generously' in mixed media, 51 x 51 x 7 cm, green and white, in good condition.
Description from the seller
This is a work by the Dutch sculptor and medalist Siemen J.T.H. Bolhuis (Soest, 1956). It concerns a particularly three-dimensional piece that can be hung on the wall. In the composition, a hand is depicted holding a dollar bill, which gives the work an intriguing and symbolic appearance.
Bolhuis studied at the AKI in Enschede and settled in Almere after his graduation in 1981. His first major commission was a monument commemorating the peace demonstrations in Soesterberg. Soon after, the well-known statue of Wim Kan and Corry Vonk followed on Leidseplein in Amsterdam. In addition to independent sculptures, Bolhuis also creates small sculptures and medals. Thus, in 2014 he designed the King Willem-Alexander Medal as an annual medal for the Association for Medal Art. Sometimes he collaborates with other artists, including sculptor Frans van der Ven and poet-artist Hein Walter. Bolhuis is a member of the Dutch Circle of Sculptors and of the Artists Association Flevoland.
Dimensions: 51 x 51 x 7 cm
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: Restauratoren Nederland. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
