Description from the seller

Rare Set of 47 CIWL Cutlery + 1 ashtray - Gnie International Wagons-Lits / Orient Express Blue Train (Era 1950s-1970s)
Description: Authentic 47-piece set in silver-plated metal from the famous Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL).
Historical origin: These utensils come directly from the collection of a former company employee, recovered during the transfer of activity to SNCF in the 1970s. Genuine testimony to the golden age of great rail journeys (Orient-Express, Blue Train...).
Each piece bears the company’s identity on the handle (classic two-lion monogram, stylized “WL” emblem, or era-appropriate engravings depending on the restocking years). Stamps from renowned silversmiths (Ercuis, Christofle, SFAM...) appear on the pieces.
Specific inventory detail (47 pieces in total):
• SPOONS (17 pieces):
o 5 Large place spoons (long oval)
o 5 Coffee/Dessert spoons (classic oval)
o 4 Soup/Sauce spoons (round bowls)
o 2 Entremet spoons
o 1 Small cream/sauce ladle (rare piece)
• FORKS (17 pieces):
o 15 Large standard place forks
o 2 Entremet/Dessert forks
• KNIVES (13 pieces):
o 9 Large round-tipped place knives (original steel blades)
o 4 Entremet/Cheese knives
Condition: Good used condition, with their original patina reflecting their on-board history. They are neither bent nor silver-lossed. A light, specific silver cleaning will restore their full shine.
Terms of sale:
• Full lot price: €500
• Preference for sale of the complete lot.
• Personal pickup in [Your City/Region] or very carefully packaged postal shipping (bubble wrap reinforced).
Ideal for railway-enthusiast collectors, rail history buffs, or connoisseurs of prestige tableware."
