Teapot - Faience - yixing zhisha teapot
A late Qing dynasty Yixing zisha teapot of lobed melon form, with a recumbent lion finial on the cover.
The teapot is finely potted in reddish-brown zisha clay, with a rounded lobed body, curved handle and tapering spout. The cover is decorated with a moulded reclining lion, giving the piece a distinctive traditional character.
Condition: the cover has a noticeable chip/loss to the front edge, and the tip/rim of the spout also has damage. There are general signs of age, handling wear and surface marks. Please study the photos carefully.
