Taperstick - Tin

A tin candlestick from a fine late 19th-century workshop, the shaft adorned with a graceful female figure in Renaissance dress, bearing a grooved bobeche with finely chased mascarons. The flared base, of remarkable solidity, testifies to the care the artisan took in his work. The antique patina of the tin, a deep, velvety gray, gives this piece an exceptionally distinguished character.
