An impressive pair of authentic vintage Japanese Deba knives, handcrafted in the traditional style of Sakai cutlery craftsmanship.

This lot includes two signed single-bevel Deba knives (Wa-Bocho), traditional Japanese fish-processing knives prized for their weight, rigidity, and razor-sharp cutting performance. These knives embody the spirit of old Japanese culinary craftsmanship and are increasingly sought after by collectors and professional chefs worldwide.

The larger knife is signed:

“Sakai Ryujin – Special Steel Custom Made” (堺竜神 特別鋼誂)

The wooden handle bears the branded mark:

“Made by Sakai Ryujin” (堺竜神作)

and still retains a vintage Sakai Hamono label around the ferrule.

The second knife is signed:

“Made by Koichiro” (小一郎作)

with the handle branded:

“Sakai Trademark Koichiro – Special Selection” (堺商標小一郎特撰)
