Description from the seller
Unique WWII Trench Art Lamp – British 3-Inch Mortar Shell (Original Paint)
A unique and characterful table lamp, expertly converted from an original British 3-inch mortar shell from World War II. A beautiful piece of 'trench art' (trench art) that combines history with a rugged, industrial design
The mortar is fitted with a atmospheric Edison glow lamp with visible carbon filaments, creating a warm and nostalgic look.
Historical details:
Type: ML 3-inch Mortar (the standard heavy mortar of British infantry during WWII).
Markings: Very nicely marked with the original stamped text "3 MOR" and serial numbers on the casing.
Colorings: The original red and green warning rings (which at the time represented the type of explosive) are still beautifully visible. This gives the object a high collectability value.
Condition: The casing and stabilization fins are in solid, authentic condition with a nicely aged patina.
Specifications:
Total height: 45 cm (including wooden base).
Base: Sturdy, octagonal wooden base for perfect stability.
Ready for use: Supplied excluding the pictured Edison lamp.
