English Edwardian-style rolling bookcase in warm wood with brass detailing, dating from the first half of the 20th century, measuring 68 cm high, 41 cm wide and 33 cm deep, with original wheels.
Description from the seller
It is a tall English bookcase on wheels from the early 20th century, with that practical, elegant charm that defined British furniture meant to accompany daily life without losing dignity. The piece combines warm wood with brass rods and fittings, creating a classic contrast between the organic and the metallic, very much in the Edwardian English design spirit.
The top serves as a raised tray, with edges that hold books, papers, or small objects. Below appears a second, equally useful level, supported by cylindrical brass columns that add verticality and a discreet shine. At the base, the compartment divided into vertical sections is designed for magazines, sheet music, or large books—a detail very characteristic of rolling bookcases of the era.
The small wheels, integrated into the legs, allow it to move smoothly around the room, essential in English interiors where these pieces accompanied reading beside the armchair, desk, or fireplace. The soft wear on the wood and the patina of the brass speak of use, of history, of authenticity.
Some keys of the piece:
• Edwardian English design — sober, functional, elegant.
• Warm wood with patina — natural aging that adds character.
• Structural brass — provides stability and a touch of discreet luxury.
• Original wheels — mobility designed for everyday use.
• Vertical compartments — ideal for magazines, large books, or sheet music.
It is a piece that today still works just as well as a side table, a reading cart, a small bar cabinet, or a rolling bookcase, always with that British air of a useful, cultured, well-made object.
Shipped with certificate and careful packaging.
