Description from the seller

1979 Dodge Power Wagon Macho 4x4 - 360 V8.

- Original Rare Macho Edition
- Dutch Registration
- Drivable with regular B (car) license

The Macho Power Wagon was never meant to be subtle, and Dodge never pretended otherwise. Built in the late seventies for people who wanted a truck that looked as good as it drove and part of the Dodge's "Adult Toys" line-up, the Macho Edition remains one of the most recognisable combinations to come out of the golden era of the American 4x4 pickup. Forty-some years later, nothing has changed.

Driving this truck is a one-of-a-kind experience. Sitting high up, surrounded by the aggressive exhaust note and with enough torque to move mountains, you will feel like the king of the road wherever you go. Also, you will not need a special truck driver's license. Your regular "B" car license will be more than enough.

Body & Paint:

The truck presents in its original Macho Edition livery: red bodywork with factory yellow and black striping, a roof-mounted KC light bar, and wide off-road tyres filling the arches as nature intended. The overall condition is honest and good. On the fenders, doors and the bed, there are areas where the clearcoat is lifting, consistent with the age of the vehicle. Depending on your outlook, that reads as earned patina or a straightforward starting point for cosmetic attention. Either way, it does not affect the usability or character of the truck.

Chrome parts, lights and glass are in good condition. Rubber seals are in good condition too. The underneath is clean and protected with an anti-corrosive layer.

Technical Condition:

Under the hood sits the 360 cubic inch V8, 5.9 litres, backed by an automatic transmission and full four-wheel drive. The engine runs smoothly and sounds exactly as an American V8 of this era should. Power steering and air conditioning are fitted, making daily use more comfortable than you might expect from a 1979 truck. The truck starts well, drives cleanly, and brakes as it should. Tyres are in good condition. No significant leaks to report.

Interior:

The cabin is original and intact, reflecting the straightforward, functional character of a working American truck from this period. Seats, dashboard, and door cards are all present and in condition consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. The air conditioning functions. All electricals appear to be in working order.

Documentation:

The truck is registered in the Netherlands and comes with a Dutch kentekenbewijs. The APK (Dutch MOT) is valid until January 2027. The truck is road-legal and ready to use immediately.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
