Suggestive pair of decorative Chinese vases made of composite/resin worked material, inspired by the tradition of Chinese carved lacquer known as “cinnabrite.”
The vases feature a rich ornamental display with: dragons in relief, floral motifs and pierced scrolls, background incised with a wavy motif, elegant purple/plum coloration with dark shades.
The ensemble evokes the celebrated Oriental carved lacquers, reinterpreted in a decorative key for the 20th-century market. On the base there is a mark in Chinese characters within a square cartouche.
