Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, 41 mm stainless steel case with emerald green dial, automatic Calibre MB 24.17, unidirectional green ceramic bezel, 300 m water resistance, standard 180–200 mm steel bracelet, year 2022, in very good condition with minimal hairline marks.
Description from the seller
In the auction we present a piece of immense prestige and allure: a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date in the highly sought-after emerald green color. A timepiece that combines high-end sporty watchmaking with a hypnotic naturalistic design.
This watch is Montblanc's first professional diver certified (ISO 6425), but it is best known for its revolutionary dial. The manufacture has managed to recreate the three-dimensional texture, the veins, and the depth of glacial ice (inspired by Mer de Glace on Mont Blanc) through a complex and ancient artisanal technique called gratté-boisé. The deep emerald green color captures the light, evoking the reflections of alpine lakes surrounded by glaciers.
The technical setup is flawless. The 41 mm stainless steel case is topped with a unidirectional bi-color green ceramic bezel, glossy and scratch-resistant. The watch is water-resistant up to an impressive 30 ATM (300 meters) and the solid caseback features a magnificent 3D laser engraving depicting a diver and an iceberg. The indices and hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova for perfect legibility in the dark, as documented in the photographs. The heart is the automatic movement Caliber MB 24.17.
The condition is to be considered in excellent overall condition. The watch has been preserved with extreme care. The sapphire crystal and the ceramic bezel insert are pristine, free of any marks. The stainless steel case is bright and robust. On the bracelet and, in particular, on the deployant clasp, there are exclusively rare, negligible, and almost imperceptible superficial micro-scratches (hairlines) due to normal and meticulous handling of the object, which do not affect its beauty. The engraved caseback is also perfectly clear.
