Pair of hard-porcelain plates, produced in Doornik and refined in The Hague in the late 18th century, polychrome hand-painted floral decor with gilded edge and a central bouquet, each plate measuring 24.5 cm in diameter.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and rare pair of so-called Hague porcelain from the last quarter of the 18th century. The porcelain plates were manufactured in Doornik (Tournai) and then refined in The Hague with elegant polychrome floral decorations, a method characteristic of luxuriously decorated Dutch porcelain from this period.
The plates feature a graceful, scrolled edge with subtle gilded borders and, in the center, a refined hand-painted bouquet, surrounded by small loose floral sprig decors along the rim. The vivid colors and fine brushwork show the influence of 18th-century French and Dutch taste and give the pieces a particularly elegant appearance.
On the underside, a painted mark in underglaze blue.

Last quarter of the 18th century (ca. 1775–1800)
