Some Lledo models were sold in the United States under the Hartoys brand, based in Florida, which marketed mainly a range of trucks intended for supermarkets and pharmacies. One of these Hartoys ranges was called “Fantastic Set o' Wheels.” Probably due to the high cost of die-cast parts, these models did not enjoy great success, despite careful manufacturing and distinctive branded liveries. In the early 1990s, Hartoys turned to Chinese foundries to continue production of the models, now called “American Highway Legends” (AHL).
