Pillbox - .800 silver - Italy

Beautiful octagonal Italian 800 silver pill box, featuring detailed, handmade engravings of floral arabesques in the classical Victorian or Art Deco style, glazed along both sides in silver.

Such boxes were historically often used as snuff boxes, pill boxes, or for storing other small trinkets.

Featuring the silver mark “800” and another mark.

After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (part of) my collection. I would like these special objects to find a home with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historic preservation. It is time that these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so that they remain preserved for the long term.
