A pair of ice or dessert serving utensils consisting of a scoop and a serving spoon, with 950 silver‑edged handles and gilded parts, made in France by Ernest Prost in the Louis XVI antique style (circa 1850–1900).
Description from the seller
Pair of ice or dessert service cutlery comprising a serving scoop and a serving spoon. Handles in 1st-grade silver 950‰, Minerva punch, and gilded parts. French workmanship dating from around 1923.
These pieces are the work of silversmith Ernest Prost, identifiable by his hallmark: an "E" enclosing a stirrup mounted with a star and the letter "P". He is the successor of Laigniez-Sollier "À la Gerbe d’Or", founded in 1760, and he also acquired the models of F. Poisson in Paris. A pupil of Fannière, Ernest Prost established himself at 68 quai des Orfèvres in Paris in the early 20th century and was officially active from 23 August 1923 to 2 February 1963. His house is renowned for the creation of complete services, wedding baskets, art and fantasy pieces, mounted crystal, and luxury cutlery and tableware.
The decoration, in Louis XVI style, features molded handles ending in a finely hand-chiseled shell, offering an elegant goldsmithing work.
The set is in excellent overall condition.

The package will be carefully packed and shipped with insurance.
