Description from the seller
Following the success of comtoises, clock factories have copied their appearance, but used a modern movement. The clocks were also made in various sizes. This mini-comtoise is an example of that and can easily remain a pleasure to the eye for years to come.
The wall clock consists of a wooden case on which a copper front and the enamel dial are mounted. The dial has Roman numerals and bears the name "Louis Jacquin à St Etienne".
The movement is housed in the wooden case. On the movement is the text "pendell 40 cm". No maker’s mark. On the case is a copper bell. The rear door of the case is missing.
The driving mechanism of the clock and the striking is provided by a pair of weights on copper chains. The clock strikes every half hour. The tap holes have been cleaned and filled with new oil. The clock functions well.
The weights have some dents (see photos).
