Description from the seller

Vintage Enamel Hazard Sign – "Do not touch electrical wires!" – Poland, Socialist Era (PRL)

A piece of history and Eastern European industrial design

Splendid and authentic advertisement/industrial safety sign in enameled metal, from Poland during the communist period (PRL - People’s Republic of Poland).

The sign features the classic and iconic death hazard graphic, depicting a skull with crossed bones pierced by a red bolt (symbol of high voltage). The text in Polish reads:

"Nie dotykać przewodów elektrycznych!" (Do not touch electrical wires!)

Main features:

Material: Sturdy folded iron sheet with a genuine fire-fired enamel finish.
Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm (a perfect size for display).
Weight: About 600 grams (a testament to the solidity and thickness of the metal of the era).
Mounting: Equipped with 4 original holes at the corners for easy wall installation.

Condition Report

The item is presented in excellent authentic vintage condition. The glossy white enamel retains a beautiful brightness and a strong contrast with the black and red graphics.

It presents a splendid and genuine patina of time, with light signs of rust bloom and small enamel losses concentrated mainly along the outer edges and near the mounting holes (visible in photos), which do not affect the main graphics but enhance its "industrial chic" charm and certify its authenticity. The back shows the classic natural oxidation of the raw metal of the era.

Please carefully examine the attached photo gallery, which forms an integral part of the description, to assess the details and real condition of the lot.

This type of enamelled East-European signs is increasingly sought after by vintage signage collectors, war/industrial artifact enthusiasts, and interior designers.
