Description from the seller
Created for Goldorak's 50th anniversary, this poster pays homage to one of the most emblematic robots in popular culture. Halfway between Japanese tradition and contemporary pop culture, the work combines Goldorak’s mythical imagery with a composition inspired by Japanese prints, with Mount Fuji in the background.
The number 50 (1975–2025) is stamped as a strong temporal marker, symbolizing five decades of influence, nostalgia, and intergenerational transmission. The linework is deliberately graphic and assumed, blending reverence for the myth with contemporary artistic interpretation.
This limited edition is designed as a collectible piece, intended for fans of Japanese culture, of iconic robots, and of narrative pop art.
Edition details:
– Limited edition of 100 copies
- Certificate of authenticity
- Signed and numbered (Number 06/100)
– 300 g/m² art paper
– A3 format – 42 × 29.7 cm (ISO)
– Artwork sold unframed
– Ideal for collectors and Goldorak fans
A homage creation, both respectful and modern, celebrating a timeless legend of Japanese animation.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s profile has risen notably. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then chosen as Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, cementing his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE also asserts himself in the digital artwork market, a major trend of the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture play characterize a style now essential.
SKE is unquestionably an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with growing value.
Rated & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His linework bears the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His artworks bridge eras: they revisit classics, not hesitating to remix the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed shapes to confront a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA
Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the iconic Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY
In a style that sometimes recalls Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the ‘Hype’ aesthetic: you encounter sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumption icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art, with textured surfaces that sometimes echo the glossy finish of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
