Signed; William Klein - Roland Garros 2001 - 2001

Unique and unobtainable on the Internet, this very beautiful case gathers 3 portfolios bound together in a notebook of separate sheets, including William Klein's, which is dedicated and signed on the first page. The case also includes a second portfolio with drawings by CharElie Couture and a third with photographs by sports photographers, plus a text by Patrice Dominguez. The portfolios are gathered in a very beautiful hardcover case illustrated on the cover in an original way, with a cut in the cover allowing most of the image of the cut to be seen. In excellent condition.

The portfolio signed by William Klein contains 24 pages and 28 color photographs, most full-page, depicting players and the crowd of supporters, journalists with their huge telephoto lenses, the press room with journalists at their micro-computers. Given the very rapid movements of the players, they appear blurred in William Klein's photographs, but this is more of a stylistic effect. In his dedication, William Klein writes "the year we didn’t win," affirming his French identity.

The CharlElie portfolio contains 20 pages and the portfolio of the various sports photographers 118 pages.

Excellent condition copy with a small scratch on the corner of the case and a small insignificant crease in the cover notebook representing the cut, crease hidden outside the window of the case.
