EGYPT. 5 Piastre. 1376 (1956)
- Value: 5 Piastre.
- Year: 1376 (1956).
- Inscriptions: Obverse: bust of the Sphinx facing right with dates in Arabic “١٣٧٦-١٩٥٦”. Reverse: denomination “٥ قروش” inside wings extended with an inscription in Arabic at the top.
- Grade: MS64 (NGC).
5 Piastre silver coin with the modern design characteristic of the Egyptian republic, highlighting on the obverse the stylized representation of the Sphinx with clean lines and soft volumes, accompanied by the dates in the Islamic and Gregorian calendars. The reverse presents a symbolic composition with open wings framing the value, evoking strength and national renewal after the end of the monarchy. The specimen shows notable preservation, with original luster, light contact marks in the fields and defined reliefs, along with a faint silvery patina. This piece reflects the period after the 1952 revolution and the consolidation of Egyptian republican identity.
