Description from the seller

Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 200mm f/4 — Classic M42 Medium Telephoto

Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.

The Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 200mm f/4 is a classic medium-telephoto manual-focus prime lens for the M42 screw mount. Announced in 1965 by Asahi Optical Co. (Pentax), it belongs to the famous "Super-Takumar" series — the third generation of Takumar lenses, designed alongside the Asahi Pentax SV and S1a cameras. Renowned for its compact and lightweight construction relative to its focal length, the 200mm f/4 was envisioned as a hand-holdable telephoto with excellent balance, sharp definition, low distortion, and the warm color rendition that the original Takumar series is celebrated for. The lens features an all-metal build with a knurled focus ring, an Auto/Manual aperture switch (for use with auto-diaphragm-compatible bodies such as the Pentax Spotmatic series), and a built-in retractable metal lens hood. Filter size 49mm. This is the original single-coated Super-Takumar, predating the multi-coated versions (Super-Multi-Coated Takumar / SMC Takumar) that came afterwards from 1971 onward.

Important compatibility note: This is an M42 screw-mount lens. It is natively compatible with all M42-mount film cameras (Pentax Spotmatic series, SP, SV, S1a, ES, etc., as well as Praktica, Zenit, Yashica, Fujica, Chinon, Cosina and many others). On Pentax K-mount cameras (film and digital DSLRs such as K-1, K-3, K-70, etc.) it can be used via the Pentax-original M42→K-mount adapter. On all major mirrorless camera systems (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF, Nikon Z, Leica L) it can be used as a fully manual lens via a simple M42 adapter — a highly popular setup for vintage-lens enthusiasts.

Known Issues

The amount is minimal and does not noticeably affect images in normal shooting, but we are disclosing it honestly for full transparency. As a precaution, we recommend storing the lens in a dry environment (e.g. with a dehumidifier or in a dry cabinet) to prevent further fungus growth. The lens is graded as Good for this reason rather than higher.
