Corneille, Kraai, hand-signed screen print from 1990 in Cobra style, edition 132/200, 82 x 82 cm including frame, in good condition, produced in the Netherlands and sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
In Corneille's work, birds often appear as powerful symbols of freedom, movement, and imagination. A crow has a special role: with its dark color and clean form, it frequently stands for mystery, power, or the unknown. Corneille combines the crow with his characteristic bright colors and simplified shapes, making the animal simultaneously formidable and poetic. This fits his CoBrA background, in which spontaneous expression and intuitive visual language are central.
Corneille (1922–2010) was a co-founder of the CoBrA movement and an important innovator in postwar art. His work evolved from abstract to figurative, with recurring themes such as birds, women, and flowers. This colorful screen print is a fine example of his later style.
Framed dimensions: 82 x 82 cm
Unframed dimensions: 65 x 66 cm
Framed work.
Viewing is possible. We have our own frame workshop (85th anniversary) and cooperate with recognized restorers (Restauratoren Nederland). Please feel free to contact us via our website.
