Description from the seller
RARE Antique Era Game "The Village" – Parlor Games with the Red Seal No. 4867 – Circa 1930
Splendid and rare example of the three-dimensional construction game "The Village", produced roughly between the late 1920s and the early 1930s. The lot belongs to the prestigious line "Parlor Games with the Red Seal" (Catalog No. 4867), in a very rare Italian-language localized version for our market of the era.
A true museum piece of toy history, extraordinary for completeness and condition.
Contents of the Lot:
• Original Box: Stunning vintage chromolithographic artwork with vivid colors. It bears the iconic embossed mark in the shape of a red wax seal. Note: Only the box shows, on one side, damage due to time and wear (as visible in the photo).
• Diorama Components: Background board/map, die-cut and lithographed cardboard buildings to assemble (Church, Town Hall, houses), fences, small bridge, and period trees with mossy canopies.
• The Master Piece (Wooden Miniatures): Original red cardboard that still holds, anchored and sewn with period thread, all the turned and hand-painted wooden characters and animals (exquisite Erzgebirge-style craftsmanship). Finding them still fixed to the original support is an absolute rarity.
• Original Instructions: The vintage sheet with instructions in Italian is present (it shows tears and missing parts as in the photo, but it is an exceptional historical document).
Conditions:
Overall in excellent condition considering the nearly 100 years of age. Bright colors, sturdy boards, and intact miniatures. A piece of the highest collectible value.
