This flower is made entirely by hand in Murano with the traditional lampworking technique.
The master glassmaker uses a colored glass cane, brought to the softening temperature by the flame of a gas-powered torch. The glass, once made malleable, is shaped and wound around a thin metal support, enabling the desired form.
The lampworking technique allows for extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals, and small decorative elements.
In the case of flowers, once the bud and leaves are finished, the piece is hand-mounted onto a silk-covered stem reinforced with wire, so it can be used for compositions, decorations, and displays.
