Splendid and rare magnetic fishing game / hook-and-line for children, titled "Le Jeu de Pêche", produced by the famous Jeux Spear publishing house (French branch of the renowned J. W. Spear & Söhne). A true piece of vintage toy history, dating roughly to the 1920s/1930s.
The lot includes:
• The original box with a splendid chromolithographic illustration in full period style.
• 4 original wooden fishing rods with thread and metal hook.
• A set of die-cut cardboard fish with a metal insert for catching and illustrated backdrops.
Condition and aesthetics:
The game is a genuine vintage piece and shows the usual signs of wear that attest to its authenticity. As clearly visible in the attached photographs, the top and edges of the box have tears and wear due to time, but the beautiful central lithography on the lid is still legible and in bright colors.
