An exceptional historical and photographic archive of the Great War (1914-1918).
This complete lot comes from a family collection, with period handwritten annotations allowing rare historical traceability.
1. The Content (Glass Plates):
• Quantity: Approximately 125 positive glass plates (stereoscopic format 4.5 x 11 cm).
• Major Military Subjects: Verdun Sector: explicit mentions of Vaux (Fort/Village), Dugny, and strategic ridges.
• Artillery: Several impressive views of Naval Artillery and large-caliber guns in battery.
• Life of the Poilus: Troop reviews, forest encampments, soldiers in uniform (Adrian helmets), scenes of rest and logistics.
• Condition: Generally well preserved, plates well contrasted, ready for viewing or digitization.
2. Equipment and Packaging:
• Viewer: A stereoscope "Le Glyphoscope" from Jules Richard (Paris) in excellent aesthetic and functional condition (11x11 cm).
