Description from the seller
A finely cut crystal vasefrom Baccarat’s celebrated “Lagny” model, produced in the very early years of the 20th century. A work of remarkable precision, where the material appears suspended between light and depth, transparency and structure.
The crystal is exceptionally rich, dense, and beautifully resonant displays an expertly composed arrangement of cuts: deep facets, sharp edges, and geometric rhythms that capture and refract light with almost unreal intensity. One immediately recognizes the unmistakable pre-war Baccarat hand, still deeply rooted in the grand tradition of late 19th-century French craftsmanship.
The piece shows only the faintest traces of time, entirely consistent with its age, without affecting its clarity, brilliance, or sculptural presence. Its remarkable sharpness and preservation are particularly rare for an object that has existed for well over a century.
Both functional and architectural in spirit, this base embodies an era in which crystal was not merely decorative material, but a true construction of light.
Height — 25.3 cm
Top diameter — 7 cm
Base diameter — 7.5 cm
Circumference — 27.7 cm
