Foitzik Foinix folding 6x6 medium-format camera, circa 1960–1970, physically very good and tested working, equipped with a 75mm f/3.5 Foinar/Steiner lens and original leather case with matching pouch.
Description from the seller
Up for auction: a rare medium-format folding camera, the Foitzik Foinix (model Mess-Foinix), produced in the first half of the 1950s by Foitzik-Kamerawerke in Trier, Germany. This is an unusual and highly interesting collectible piece, born from Karl Foitzik’s brief yet significant postwar production in Germany. The camera is designed to shoot in the classic square 6x6 format on 120 film. The body features a compact, horizontal-opening design, with satin metal finishes on the top cap and a black leatherette covering. This exemplar is equipped with an original Foinar (or Steiner) 75mm f/3.5 lens, a bright focal length by folding-camera standards of the era, housed on a central shutter adjustable for manual control of shutter speeds and apertures. The lot is further enhanced by its original period accessories: the brown leather protective case with strap and a small coordinated leather pouch with a raised geometric pattern. A truly unusual set and collector-relevant, ideal for enthusiasts of vintage German cameras and for enriching a display of photographic modernia. The item is sold in the cosmetic condition visible in the photos.
