Description from the seller
Tableware set: large bowl / serving cup (likely a punch bowl or fruit stand). Mouth-blown, high-quality transparent crystal. Circular, hemispherical and flared shape, with wide walls and a soft profile that curves toward a thick elevated ring base (saber-foot). The bowl features a rich and refined acid-etched decoration, a hallmark of the late 19th century or the first half of the 20th century. The upper edge finished with a thin band of stylized geometric and floral garland running along the entire inner and outer perimeter.
The main motif is clearly inspired by Neo-Rococo or Louis XV style. It is composed of volutes and finely ridged “C-scrolls.” Sinous floral and vegetal tendrils branch upward with small leaves and buds.
Festoons connect the various decorative elements, creating a symmetrical and light design that leaves broad portions of smooth glass to enhance the material’s luster. Period: Late 19th century – early 20th century (circa 1890–1930). The decorative style recalls famous French productions (such as Baccarat or St. Louis). At the time (before 1936), many of these manufactories did not mark pieces with an indelible acid mark on the bottom, but used simple paper labels that could be lost with washing.
Then there is a set of stemmed glasses consisting of: a long-drink goblet height 16.8 x diameter 8 cm, 3 white wine glasses height 15.2 x diameter 7.9 cm and 2 red wine glasses height 14.1 x diameter 6.9 cm. Bowl: flared inverted cone shape (open tulip stem glass or conical trunk). Stem: slender, characterized by a central faceted or baluster-shaped knot that connects to a flat, stable circular base.
The glasses feature the same identical workmanship as the centerpiece bowl, confirming belonging to the same precious service (service de table).
