The Philips 408 turntable (also known as model GA 408) is a classic belt-driven turntable with an automatic stop mechanism, designed for 33 and 45 rpm speeds. It is equipped with an AC synchronous motor, supports options such as the GP213/GP400 cartridges, and requires an external phono preamplifier to be connected to an amplifier. With a solid vintage construction in wood and aluminium and a relatively simple mechanism, it is especially attractive for enthusiasts of friction-free listening and nostalgic audio setups.
