Description from the seller

French clock with zinc sculpture of a spear thrower / hunter – France – ca. 1900

Magnificent, characterful French mantel clock from the late Belle Époque (circa 1900). On top of the ornately decorated clock case stands a dynamic and highly detailed sculpture of an athletic spear thrower (hunter), made of zinc alloy (régule) with a warm bronze-like patina. The clock case itself is richly adorned with classical ornaments and rests on elegant feet. A highly decorative object with a powerful, historical aura.

Condition report & Important notes:
Movement: Not in working order. Needs to be inspected, cleaned or restored.
Dial: One of the hands has come loose and is currently behind the glass on the dial. The glass itself remains intact.
Completeness: Sold in the condition in which it is (as-is).
Internal movement parts or accessories may be missing (such as a pendulum or winding key).
Sculpture: The zinc sculpture is in good visual condition and the thin, fragile spear is still fully present.
