SWITZERLAND. Bern. 5 Rappen. 1900.
- Value: 5 Rappen.
- Year: 1900.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: CONFŒDERATIO HELVETICA · 1900. Reverse: 5 surrounded by a corona of vine leaves and grape clusters, with mint mark B.
- Grade: MS66 (PCGS).
Copper-nickel 5 Rappen coin minted in Bern at the beginning of the 20th century, representative of the refined and stable Swiss monetary tradition. The obverse features the allegorical bust of Helvetia looking to the right, with a diadem inscribed LIBERTAS and a Neo-Renaissance-inspired classical treatment, accompanied by the Latin legend of the Swiss Confederation. The reverse shows the denomination within an elegant corona of vine leaves and grape clusters bound by a lower ribbon, a design of great ornamental balance and excellent depth of engraving. The specimen preserves an outstanding state of preservation, with very fresh reliefs, bright fields and uniform silver tones, showing only minimal contact marks in keeping with the high MS66 certification. A particularly attractive piece for its visual quality and for representing one of the most emblematic designs of modern Swiss numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
