Lodewijk Schelfhout's etching Jezus Christus (1916) is a cubist, hand-signed work in good condition, 37 × 52 cm with frame, produced in the Netherlands and offered by Galerie as a limited edition.
Description from the seller
Etching by the Dutch artist Lodewijk Schelfhout (The Hague, 23 August 1881 – Amstelveen, 5 November 1943).
He was a Dutch painter and graphic artist. In addition, he worked as a ceramicist, goldsmith, glass painter and furniture designer. He descended from an artist family: his grandfather Andreas Schelfhout (1787–1870) was a well-known landscape painter.
In 1903 Schelfhout moved to the Parisian district Montparnasse, where he came into contact with leading artists such as Piet Mondriaan, Conrad Kickert, Peter Alma, Jacoba van Heemskerck, Henri Le Fauconnier, Auguste Herbin, Fernand Léger and Albert Gleizes. Schelfhout also played an important role in the founding of the Moderne Kunstkring in Amsterdam.

Etching by the Dutch artist Lodewijk Schelfhout (The Hague, 23 August 1881 – Amstelveen, 5 November 1943).
He was a Dutch painter and graphic artist. In addition, he worked as a ceramicist, goldsmith, glass painter and furniture designer. He descended from an artist family: his grandfather Andreas Schelfhout (1787–1870) was a well-known landscape painter.
