Description from the seller
Reliquary “Kiss of Peace” of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus – 19th century
Authentic reliquary of the kiss-of-peace type in repoussé brass, engraved with neo-Gothic floral decoration.
In the center, a relic identified by manuscript titulus: “Ex Pulvere Sepulchri / Sanctae Theresiae a Jesu Infante,” i.e., a relic consisting of dust taken from the tomb of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus.
The relic is presented on a pink textile background with metallic applications and fine beads.
On the reverse, a red wax ecclesiastical seal with silk threads, guaranteeing the integrity of the reliquary.
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux (1873–1897), French Carmelite canonized in 1925, is one of the most venerated saints of modern Catholicism. Known for her “little way,” she was proclaimed Doctor of the Church in 1997.
Good condition with signs of aging.
