A round golden iron Art Déco mirror with built-in backlighting, external 60 cm and internal 50 cm, made in France in the 1940s, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
It is a round gilt iron mirror that perfectly embodies the dialogue between Art Deco and Hollywood Regency that defined so much of mid-20th-century luxury decor. The metal framework, worked with geometric curves and circular motifs, creates a frame that not only surrounds the glass but stages it, as if a stylized sun suspended on the wall. The gold finish, warm and luminous, has that slightly satin sheen typical of boutique decorative pieces that aimed to convey glamour without ostentation. The mirror incorporates a backlight, a decisive detail that makes it a hybrid piece between a functional object and a luxury lamp. The lighting filters in from the perimeter, creating a soft halo that envelops the contour and accentuates the silhouette of the frame. That effect —so cinematic— is one of the defining hallmarks of Hollywood Regency aesthetics, where every element was meant to contribute shine, theatricality, and a sense of an interior carefully lit. The crystal, clean and perfectly integrated, becomes the centerpiece of a design that plays with symmetry, geometric elegance, and the sculptural presence of the metal. It’s a mirror designed to decorate as much as to reflect, ideal for entryways, living rooms, or spaces where a touch of vintage sophistication with a nod to classic cinema is desired. Certified shipping and good packaging.
